Marie Cheney

It is with broken hearts that we announce our sweet sister, aunt, and friend Marie Cheney age 74, of Orem passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Marie was born November 20, 1949, to George and Minerva Cheney, in Provo Utah. She is the oldest of five Children.
She participated in Girl Scouts and earned many badges. She's a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Where she received both Primary and Young Woman's awards. She graduated in 1968 from Orem High School.
After high school she worked at The Wee Baby Home tending children, for two years. She then worked at Baileys Sewing Manufactory, for ten years. She was a Mailroom operator at the Daily Herald Newspaper, for 18 years.
Marie's greatest joy was helping and serving others, especially her nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed cross stitching and creating things with plastic canvas.
Her passion for holding newborn babies was priceless and a treasure to her.
Marie was proceeded in death by her parents (George and Minerva Cheney) and Brother-in-law (David Cheney).
She is Survived by her siblings. Shirley Cheney (the late David), Penny Beagley (Bob), Bill Cheney (Keri), and George Cheney. 14 Nieces and Nephews, and many Great Nieces and Nephews that all called her Auntie Ree.
