We mournfully announce the loss of Marie Christine Goguen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who passed away peacefully on the 19th of May, 2024. Born on the 4th of January, 1937 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Marie was a beacon of love and compassion to all who knew her. She spent her life in service of others, first as a medical assistant and later as a librarian. Her thoughtful and humble nature endeared her to many, and she always saw life as a glass being half-full. She was a lover of knitting, gardening, and RV camping, but what mattered most to Marie was her family, especially her grandchildren, and her friends.

Marie is survived by her devoted husband, Philip Goguen, her loving sons Peter and Mark Goguen, her cherished daughter-in-law Celeste, and her adored grandchildren, Chanelle and Broderick Goguen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Esther Pasno. Her legacy will live on through the lives of those she touched with her unwavering love and kindness.

A visitation for Marie will be held on Thursday, May 23. 2024 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am at the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, Massachusetts, 01440.

A funeral service will follow on the same day at 11:00 am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.  As we remember Marie, we draw comfort from the Catholic verse, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:8), a sentiment that beautifully captures her loving and compassionate spirit.

We invite you to share your memories of Marie and upload photos to her memorial page at www.mackfamilyfh.com. In remembering and celebrating her life, we keep her spirit alive in our hearts. Marie Goguen's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and positivity, and we will remember her always for the joy and warmth she brought into our lives.
