Marie Moreschi Obituary

Marie worked at the Torrington Company as secretary to the Chief Engineer after graduating from Torrington High School in 1947. In 1952 she took the Queen Mary over to Scotland to marry her one true love Terrence Moreschi, who was stationed there with the USAF. She made many lifelong friends while in Scotland and had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe. On returning to the USA in 1954 Marie was a full-time mom who was very involved in her daughter's activities and as a community volunteer. After her girls were grown Marie worked part-time as a teller at United Bank in New Hartford. She was a past member of the New Hartford Ambulance and the New Hartford Homemakers. She also served on the New Hartford Historical Society, New Hartford Library Board and New Hartford Inlands Wetlands Commission. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, ceramics and outdoor activities. Mostly she loved time with her family and friends at Peaceful Acres.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Taren (Steve) Rylander of Winsted and Deb (Bob) Rice of New Hartford; her beloved grandchildren, Jessica (Joe) Baier, Jeremy Wood, Kevin Pease and Zachary (Kate) Wood; great grandchildren Kaden Pease, Sarah Baier and Ayla Baier; and a sister, Regina (Leonard) Lucia. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased her sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jack Meley; her son-in-law, John Wood and a great grandson, Logan Baier.
Services will be private at Marie's request. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, New Hartford has care of arrangements. Although I met Marie only once when her husband
Terry brought her to a high school class reunion.
Terry was a class guy and I knew him from boy
scout days, and I'm sure he gave Marie a great life
