Mrs. Marie T. "Sissy" Quick Port Jervis, NY
Marie T. "Sissy" Quick, a lifetime resident of the area, died Friday, October 10, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. Born on April 22, 1948, in Port Jervis, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul F. Hess and the late Helen "Honey" McKeon Hess.
Marie married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Sidney O. Quick, on March 9, 1968, in St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis. They recently celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage together.
Marie worked for many years as a waitress at The Robin's Nest and later owned her own cleaning business. She also worked briefly as a hairdresser. Known for her vibrant personality, Marie was truly the life of every party-always dancing, singing, and capturing every family moment with her camera or video recorder. Affectionately known as "Sissy," she was famous for her special homemade birthday cakes made with love for everyone in her family. She loved vacationing and cherished the many trips and adventures she shared with her loved ones. Marie was loved by everyone who knew her and will be remembered for her joyful spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Marie was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #161 and the Naval Ship in Port Jervis. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Surviving are: her loving husband, Sidney O. Quick; her beloved children, Michele Kenny and her husband Peter, and Jeffrey Quick and his companion Regina Lejeune; loving grandchildren, Brett and his wife Lisa Quick and Tyler and his wife Lindsay Quick, Kendra, Marissa and Justin Kenny; Six great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul "P.C." Hess and his wife Geri and Brendan Hess and his wife Patty; Sister-in-law, Clementina "Tina" Hess and also many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Quick, brothers, Joseph and John W. Hess; sister, Maura Hess-Ochsen; her mother and father-in-law, Sid and Helen Quick; her Aunt Marie McKeon; sister-in-law, Carol Langlitz; brothers-in-law, Robert and Ralph Quick and also her beloved dog, Brutus.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 with a 10:00am Blessing service at the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Giacona officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark, Inc., 202 Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
