Marie L. Sanfelice, 83, of Dewey Avenue, died Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. She was born on May 14, 1941, in New Castle, the daughter of the late H. R. Creswell and Mary J. (Mescal) Creswell. She was married to the late Alfonso 'Bucky' Sanfelice, who died June 22, 2004. Mrs. Sanfelice was an operator for Professional Answering Service in New Castle for 30 years, and then was an operator at St. Francis Hospital and UPMC Jameson Hospital for 20 years. She then worked at the Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles in the photo center in New Castle, retiring after 12 years. Mrs. Sanfelice was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Mary's Church, and was an avid Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers fan.
She is survived by four daughters, Anne Marie Pickel and her husband Donald of New Castle, Mary Ann Holfelder and her husband Kevin of New Wilmington, PA, Gina L. McGranahan and her husband Steven of New Castle, and Linda K. Sibeto and her husband Michael of New Castle, five grandchildren, Kristin Sibeto, Joseph Pickel, Carley Locke, Rachael Holfelder, and Kayla Prinkey, one great-granddaughter, Melina Pickel, and one sister, Agnes Lockley.
Preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Marzula
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham AVenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus Church. Father John Gizler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM.
