Born July 2, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Marie Lillian Zimmerman passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, after a long battle with dementia.

Marie dedicated her career to secretarial work, beginning with the FBI and later retiring from Chrysler after 43 years of loyal service. She was a devout Catholic, praying the rosary faithfully and keeping her faith close throughout her life.

Marie will be remembered for her sharp, sarcastic wit that never failed to bring laughter to those around her. She had a lifelong love for her many rescued Shelties, who brought her endless joy and companionship. A proud University of Michigan football fan, she rarely missed a game and cheered on her team with passion.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Wallace Zimmerman. She was also preceded in death by her parents Alois and Anna (Lemanski) White, and her siblings Dolores White and Richard White.

She leaves behind her loving sons, Joseph (Lorri) Zimmerman and James (Lavon) Zimmerman; her cherished grandchildren, Cady (Jared) Stapor, Faith (Ethan) Brown, and Craig (Sarah Samyn) Zimmerman; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Marie will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and her quiet but unwavering faith.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48312.

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, Marie will lie in state at 9:00 a.m. at St. Blase Parish, 12151 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48312, until the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery 18201 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48038.
