Marilyn Bucher Obituary
Born October 14, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana, to Chester Marion and Dorothy Jean Richardson Sorrell, Marilyn lived in this community all of her life. Marilyn retired after 30 years of service as a machinist at Silgan Closures. She enjoyed craft shows and traveling. Marilyn lived for spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Rae Jean (Stephen) Grimes, Ranonda (Anthony) Messler, and Beth (Butch) Evans; son, David (Debbie) Crist; grandchildren, Justin (Angie) Grimes, Jeremy Grimes, Amanda (Fred) Noe, Kara (Tim) Noe, Melissa (Zach) Crawford, Brent (Courtney) Evans, Brooke (Jay) Bentlage, Genika Lucas, Courtney Crist, Conner Crist, Curstin Crist; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Peggy (Duane) Huntington; sisters in law, Jackie and Shelly Sorrell; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bucher; parents; and brothers, Keith, Larry, and Duane Sorrell.
Visitation for Marilyn Jean Sorrell Bucher will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cope Environmental Center, 1730 Airport Road, Centerville, IN 47330.
