Marilyn Helen (Guse) Lipinsky, age 88, of Harvard, IL died peacefully Friday, August 15, 2025, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin surrounded by her loving family. She leaves a husband of 62 years, Raymond Lipinsky; three children: Rick Lipinsky, Cathy (Jim) Carlson, and Dave (Emily) Lipinsky; five grandchildren: Alyssa (Jordan) Gillund, Bree (Fielding) Lockas, Catie (Jonathan) McGehee, Jack Lipinsky, and Taylor Lipinsky; three great-grandchildren: Collins Gillund, Fletcher Gillund, and Felicity Lockas. Born in Belvidere and raised in Union, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Hazel Guse, and a lifelong resident of Harvard.

Marilyn graduated from Marengo Community High School and attended Walther Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she studied to become a registered nurse. On September 22, 1962, Marilyn married the love of her life, Raymond Lipinsky, and put her career on hold while she entered the most noble profession in the world, a stay-at-home mother. Marilyn was a wonderful mother, loving without condition, patient, kind, encouraging, and selfless, with a sprinkling of good-natured and harmless impishness.

After her children reached a sufficient level of independence, Marilyn utilized her skills as a registered nurse working 40+ years at Harvard Hospital. There, countless patients and their families benefited from her talent and skills, but most of all from her compassionate love and care for others.

Marilyn Lipinsky loved her family and trusted in God. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, Grammie, Meme, and friend.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033, Friday, August 29, 2025, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service Mass will be held Saturday August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Horizon Homecare & Hospice.
