81, of Capac passed away October 19, 2022 in the comfort of her home.
She was born in Detroit on January 24, 1941 to the late Jack and Delores (Simmers) Poole.
Joyce Marilyn grew up in Berkley Michigan and graduated in January 1959 from Berkley High School.
Joyce traveled after high school and married Doug Sampson on September 9, 1961. They moved to Capac in 1962 where Joyce worked at Capac Public Schools as a teachers' aide for 11 years. She enjoyed reading, baking, spending time with her family, many dear friends (and many spoiled pets), going up north and traveling in their RV. After Doug's retirement, they spent 11 winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Joyce will be dearly missed by her daughter Deanna Montney; son, David (Linda) Sampson; grandchildren, Alex (Alicia), Ian, Olivia (Danny), Elizabeth; nieces, Linda Logan, Sandy (J.C.) Lester; and a cousin, Yvonne Wilson.
Joyce was preceded in death by husband, Douglas Sampson; her parents, Delores and Jack Poole; brother, David Poole; son-in-law, Nathan Montney.
The family honors the memory of Joyce and invites you to visit and share memories Friday, October 21, 2022, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Burial will be in Capac Cemetery, Mussey Township.

Joyce was a wonderfully kind lady, always wearing a smile, she was thoughtful & generous with her time, sharing good advice & funny stories about her pets. The world was a better place because of her.
