Marilyn Rae Scheets, (95), of Aurora, died Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Bickford of Aurora. She was born August 18, 1929, in Kane County.
Survivors include four daughters, Margie Engberg (Gary) of Oswego; Joy Tierney (Michael) of Aurora; Jill Schutz (Leonard) of Bloomingdale; and Joanie Scheets-Britton (Dan) of Aurora; eight grandchildren, Brian Engberg, Laurie Ross, Kevin Tierney, Karen Chorvat, Kristin Overton, Jason Engberg, Jen Estes, and Kenny Schutz, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Scheets, her parents, Clara and Raymond Shales, her sister, Audrey Wilson, and her great-granddaughters, Jocelyn and Sophie Engberg.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2025, at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at The Healy Chapel, Aurora. The Rev. Dan Haas will officiate. Burial in Spring Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bickford of Aurora and the Angel Grace Hospice.
