Marjorie K. Cole, age 87, passed away on October 30, 2025 at her home while under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 4, 2025 at 1PM at Frary Funeral Home, 33 Park Street, Gouverneur, with Pastor Howard Maxson officiating. Calling hours will precede the service from 11AM until the time of the service, burial will follow in Hailesboro Cemetery.
Marjorie was born on April 8, 1938 the daughter of John and Marion (Spicer) Andrews. She graduated in 1955 from Gouverneur Central School. Marjorie was employed at Dodds Motor Corporation, which is where she met her husband. On August 22, 1957 she married Lawrence Cole at the First United Methodist Church in Gouverneur. She was later employed at Gouverneur Talc as a payroll clerk and office manager, retiring after 32 years of employment there.
She is survived by her children, Rocky (Carol) Cole of Antwerp, Roxanne (Ronald) Slate of Gouverneur, Daniel Cole of Gouverneur, and Dana (Amy) Cole of Antwerp, eight grandsons and thirteen great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, a daughter in law Jody Cole, a great granddaughter Macy Slate, her brothers, John, Murray, and William, her sisters Helen Knowlton and June Kammerer. The past few years she has enjoyed spending time, dining out, shopping, short get-aways, and endless conversation with her special friend and companion Gary Smith, for whom the family is very thankful.
Marjorie enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, doing puzzle books to keep her brain sharp, but her favorite pastime was spending time at her happy place her camp on Black Lake.
Memorial donations may be made in Marjorie's memory to Hospice of Jefferson County or to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
