MUNCIE – Marjorie G. Fields, 85, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 11, 1936 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of John B. and Christine (Bonner) Buffalo. A graduate of Muncie Central High School, Margie later went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Ball State University. In June, 1980 in Muncie, she married Thomas A. Fields.
Marjorie worked for the Muncie Sanitary District-Engineering Division as office manager for 42 years until her retirement in 2019. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #33, the Moose Bowling league, Eagles Auxiliary #231 and the Red Hat Society.
She loved casinos – especially in Las Vegas and French Lick. She had a love for all things grand, the performing arts and classic movies, especially John Wayne, Westerns and anything with a good-looking cowboy. To say that she was adventurous is an understatement! She loved traveling (even until recently), ziplining, parasailing, swimming and bowling. She also loved any opportunity to make someone laugh.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Davis (husband, Rick) of Muncie and Brenda Dougan (husband, Jeff) of Florida; four grandchildren, Alan Davis (husband, William) of Louisville, KY, Brandy Luhn of Cincinnati, OH, Shane Smith (wife, Rebeca) of Muncie and Darryl Gene Smith (wife, Shannon) of Muncie; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Buffalo (wife, Sandy) of Hartford City and Billy Buffalo of Clearwater, FL; one sister, Kay Gilbert of Redkey; and special friend, Judy Gibson of Muncie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christine Buffalo; her husband of 32 years, Thomas A. Fields; one brother, Rick Buffalo; one sister-in-law, Lynn Buffalo; her first husband, Rosco Gibson; and her mean cat, Toodie.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
