Marjorie Porter, 89, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born July 18, 1932 in Duke, Oklahoma to the late Homer William and Leva Omega (Deford) Robinson.
Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved being around her children and grandchildren. She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. She lived her life for her family and her God. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching her grandchildren compete.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Dave) Schaefer; son, Patrick (Annette) Porter; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Crystal) Schaefer, Michelle (Rich) Davis, Tishia (Steven) Short, Kristie (Jason) Sutton, Britany (Steven) Garnica, and Jimmy Porter; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Porter; brothers, James Morgan and Edwin Robinson; sister, Myletha Pike; and son, Michael Porter.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron, with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend David Cullison.
Memorial contributions may be made to It Takes a Village, 1417 N. Stockwell Rd., Evansville, IN 47715.
