Mark Floyd Crane, age 65, passed away on March 15, 2025, at his home in Republic, Missouri. Mark was born to Joe Bill and Mildred (Floyd) Crane on April 1, 1959, in Springfield, Missouri. He was raised in Willard, Missouri, and graduated from Willard High School in 1977. On March 31, 1995, Mark married Cara (McCarty) Coleman at his mother's house in Willard. From 1995 until his passing, Mark and Cara lived in Republic.
Until his retirement in 2020, Mark worked as a parts salesman at Thompson Sales for 35 years. During his time at Thompson Sales, Mark witnessed the company's growth and relocation from St. Louis Street to Independence Street in Springfield. Mark was a valued employee who served the company with pride, loyalty, and career-long dedication. He was committed to quality customer service and enjoyed making friends along the way.
When not working, Mark had a passion for motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson, which now has been passed on to his stepson, Jason Coleman. Mark was known as a talented mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. If anyone had a mechanical problem, Mark could fix it. He also enjoyed listening to rock and classic country music. Without a doubt, Credence Clearwater Revival was his favorite band. More than anything else, Mark loved to spend time with his family. He will be remembered as an honest, up-front, man of character who always told it the way it was. He was responsible, hardworking, and dedicated his life to the well-being of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by those whose life he touched and his legacy will live forever.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Joe Bill Crane and his twin brother, Michael Crane. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Blankenship; wife, Cara Crane; stepson, Jason Coleman and his wife, Cammi; stepdaughter, Mattia Coleman-Willis and her husband, Kevin; grandchildren: Aryah Coleman, Annabelle Coleman, Rowan Coleman, and Farrah Willis; sister, Becky Aton and her husband, Jim; nephews, Daryn Clevinger and Dallas Clevinger; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mark's family will host a memorial visitation on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 2:00-3:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield. His Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00 pm. Burial services will be held at a later date at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
