Mark Hall

John Mark Hall, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished Papa, and respected agricultural aviator, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2025, at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Though the disease may have taken his memories, it could never take the love he gave, the lessons he imparted, or the lasting impact he left on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born July 10, 1958, in Laforge, Missouri, Mark grew up with a deep love of farming and a passion for flying. His dreams became a reality when he earned his pilot wings and embarked on a lifelong career as the owner and operator of Hall Aviation. His love of flying was only surpassed by the love he had for his family and his dogs.
While aviation was his profession, it was his role as a husband, father, and grandfather that defined him best. A man of deep humility and unwavering integrity, Mark led his family with love, wisdom, and pride. He was a pillar of strength, always there with steady hands and a listening ear, offering guidance when needed and encouragement when it mattered the most. His children and grandchildren knew they could always count on him, whether it was for a farm tour, a warm hug, or a funny story from his childhood in Laforge.
Fifty years ago, Mark met Sabra Edwards who would become the love of his life. Together they built a 48-year marriage rooted in deep love, laughter, and an enduring devotion that has stood the test of time. Through life's highs and lows, they navigated each challenge side by side, never wavering in their commitment and respect for one another and the family they created.
Alzheimer's may have tried to steal his words, but it could never take his spirit. Even in his most challenging days, Mark faced his illness with dignity, reminding those around him of his strength and resilience. His family takes comfort in knowing that now, he is finally free-with peace and clear skies.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Sabra; his children, Jessie Hall (Crystal), Morgan Hall Poteet (McLane); his son-in-law, Richard Sheubrooks (Monica); and his nine grandchildren, Jack Sheubrooks, Zara Sheubrooks, Michael Sheubrooks, Jessie Leigh Hall, Jace Hall, Michelle Hall, Mac Poteet, Hall Poteet, and Frannie Poteet and a host of extended family, friends, and an entire farming community who were touched by his presence. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Kristen Hall Shuebrooks, his brothers. Doug and Michael Hall, and his parents, Sally and Jim Hall.
A visitation is planned for at 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Fellowship Baptist Church and a celebration of Mark's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday also at Fellowship Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and medical professionals who walked this journey with them, providing comfort and support. Though he has taken his final flight, his love, wisdom, humility, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
