Mark Loostrom Obituary

Mark Bedell Loostrom was born on November 20, 1953, at Gothenburg, NE, the third child of John A Loostrom and Beulah (Bedell) Loostrom.
He grew up on the family homestead north of Gothenburg, where he attended New Hope school for elementary school and Gothenburg High School where he was active in FFA. After graduation, he began ranching, which he did for the rest of his life between Gothenburg, Brady, and Maxwell. He earned and maintained a private pilot's license for a number of years. In August of 1973 he married Shawn McWha, and to this union one son was born, John Michael Loostrom.
He loved cows, fishing, hunting, and visiting with friends and he could fix anything either mechanically or welding.
He is survived by his wife Shawn, his son John (Melodie) of Maxwell, grandchildren Trever Muellenberg of Gothenburg, Katie Loostrom, brother David (Linda) Loostrom of Gothenburg, sister Peggy (Johnny) Pape of Omaha, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Lane and Bobbi Jo Loostrom.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 24, 2025, 1:00-6:00 pm at the Blasé Strauser Funeral Home, 620 10th St,. Gothenburg, NE with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.
A private celebration of life will be held. Burial will be at a later date.
