Mark was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 1, 1953 to the late Bernard "Bun" Murty and Marva Dean (Whobrey) McGehee. He owned and operated Riverside Antique Mall for 10 years and he retired in 2020 from TJ Maxx as operations manager after 35 years. In his free time, Mark volunteered for United Way. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, trucks, home improvement projects and dogs. He adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Debbie (Pruitt) Murty of Evansville, IN; children, Kaelie Moody (Donald), Michael Long (Dora), Amanda Streeter and Mark Murty; sister, Sherry Dopp (Chuck); nephews, Mike and Joey Dopp; a close cousin, Debbie Caves; sister-in-law, Karin Pruitt; brother-in-law, Robert Pruitt; grandchildren, Camden Long, Margie Thomas, Delilah Long, Kayden Perez, Ian Perez and others.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Jim McGehee; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Barnett and Margie (Johnson) Pruitt; brother-in-law, Allen Pruitt; and sister-in-law, Lynda Roach.
Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday July 16, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. A private family burial will be on Thursday at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016, the Vanderburgh Humane Society, PO Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719 or to Heart to Heart Hospice, 610 E. Walnut St., Suite A, Evansville, IN 47713.

Sorry to hear about your loss.mark and I met back in the early 70. Ran around together for a few years .mark was always excellent guy . Occasionally we would fun into each other at stores. Rest in peace mark.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Mark at TJ Maxx in Evansville. He was a very funny person with a laid back demeanor. I pray that his family find comfort and peace during this time of grief.
