Mark Anthony Smith

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Anthony Smith, who peacefully passed away, surrounded by family, on March 21, 2025. Mark was born on June 5, 1958, in Stafford, and grew up in Tolland. He was 66 years old.
A dedicated carpenter and Master Builder, for over 30 years, Mark was known for his craftsmanship and attention for detail. He loved fishing, hiking, camping, skiing, scuba diving, and took great pride in his landscaping skills. He had an incredible sense of humor and enjoyed making everyone laugh. His children will always remember his practical jokes with a smile. In his later years, Mark was an avid letter writer who never missed an episode of "Cash Cab". He also loved word search and puzzle books, being outside, coloring, watching UConn basketball and Red Sox baseball, talking on the phone, and visiting with loved ones. Above all else, he loved his family and every moment he spent with them.
Mark is survived by his daughter Emelia, her husband Jon, and their children (Mark's grandchildren) Liam and Naomi; his daughter Ashley-Rose; his son Reilly and his fiancée Katie; his sister Pamela and her husband Charles; his sister Karen; his sister Laurie and her husband David; his sister Catherine and her husband Richard; his sister Jackie and her husband Herbert; his sister Beth and her husband Sean; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Tim" Smith and Gloria Smith and his infant brother, Michael Joseph.
Mark will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a witty, caring man and a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend.
Callings hours will be Saturday, (March 29), from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home immediately following calling hours at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at South Cemetery in Tolland.
