Mark Jeffery Youngblood

Services will be held at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Rd., Benton, Louisiana, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 am.

Mark  Jeffery Youngblood, a loving father, “Poppie,” and brother, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025. Mark was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on October 25, 1962, to Louise and Revis Youngblood, Sr.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dee and Carrie Stanley, and Foster and Myrtle Youngblood; his parents, Revis Youngblood, Sr., and Louise Stanley Youngblood; his brother, Christopher Youngblood; and his nephew, Jake Ewing.

Mark is survived by his daughters, Sarah-Beth Youngblood Bump and husband, Brian, and their son, Ward of Benton, and Caroline Youngblood Gordon and husband, Cody, and their son, Coast of Shreveport. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Youngblood Farrar, and husband, Ronnie of Shreveport; his brother, Revis Youngblood, Jr., and wife, Frances of Bossier; and by the children of the late Christopher Youngblood, Trevor Youngblood, wife, Dr. Sylvianne, and daughter, Lily of Dallas; Nathan Youngblood of Denver; and Cydney Youngblood of Dallas. Mark leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who loved him dearly. 

Mark was raised in Doyline alongside his siblings and many cousins. Some of his fondest memories were made fishing, a pastime he later shared with his girls, spending countless hours talking, laughing, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

 From an early age, Mark’s love for baseball ran deep. He played for Airline High School, where he earned numerous accolades, and later accepted a scholarship to Centenary College of Louisiana. His dedication and talent on the field led to several honors, including Member of the 1980 District Championship team and State Quarterfinalist, 1980 All-District Selection, 1980 Shreveport Times All, Caddo-Bossier Team, 1980 Shreveport Journal All-City Team, 1980 All Parish Honorable Mention, and 1980 All City Honorable Mention.

 Mark passed down his passion for sports to his girls, coaching their basketball and softball teams for many years through BPAR and USSSA. He found great joy in teaching them teamwork, leadership, discipline, and the love of the game.

 A true salesman at heart, Mark spent over 35 years in the steel industry. He had a special gift for connecting with people; every customer became a friend, and his coworkers became family. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to his OIS family for their friendship, love, and support over the years.

 Mark loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior as a young boy. With a servant’s heart, he faithfully taught first-grade Sunday School classes at Cypress Baptist Church for many years. His “Christmas pancakes” were legendary among the kids who adored him. Mark will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His daughters will continue to share “Poppie stories” with their boys, ensuring that his laughter, love, and legacy live on for generations to come.

 Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Randy Elledge, Ken Seale, Keith Bush, George Fauber, Roy Hill, Steve Metcalf, and Mike Estes.
