Sr Marlene Payette Ssj

Sister Marlene Payette, SSJ, died on Sept. 13, 2022. Born on Jan. 8, 1943, in Hartford, Connecticut, Sister entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1961 after attending Melbourne High School. Sister served throughout Florida in Catholic education, healthcare, parish social ministry, and Catholic Charities. In 2015 she retired in St. Augustine. She had a twin sister, Sister Mary Lyn, also a Sister of St. Joseph, who preceded her in death in 2019. She is survived by her brother, Greg Payette. A vigil service will be held Thurs., Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Motherhouse chapel of the Sisters of St. Joseph, St. Augustine. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Fri., Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. in the Motherhouse, with internment at San Lorenzo cemetery.
