Marlene G. Wright (Smith), age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Born on June 11, 1944, in Potosi, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Guyton and Ruth (Sinclair) Smith. Marlene dedicated many years of her professional life as an Administrator with Schuck's and later as a Seamstress at Rising Star Resort. She was also a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Marlene is lovingly remembered by her step-daughter, Melanie (Russell) Ossege of Fort Thomas, KY; and her granddaughters, Jessica and Rachel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Smith and sister Wilma Walton.

A graveside service will be held at River View Cemetery, 3635 E. Laughery Creek Rd., Aurora, Indiana, on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Bill Secrest officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Aurora American Legion Post 231 in her honor.
