Marshall Hillary Mitchell

Marshall Hillary Mitchell was born on December 14,1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Clardis Amacker and the late Charles Harry Mitchell. He entered eternal life on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the age of 72.
During his youth he was affectionately nicknamed "Rabb" and enjoyed playing basketball and tennis.
He graduated from George Washington carver sr. High School and attended Yale University and Xavier University of Chicago.
He was a military veteran proudly serving in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller from 1973-1977.
Marshall was hardworking and trustworthy, and enjoyed a 30 year career in the oil and gas industry with Dupont-Conoco. He was a gas measurement specialist and received many awards and recognition. He was so inventive that he is the co-owner of a patent for a device related to gas measurement. This led to a promotion and a transfer with his family to Lafayette, Louisiana in 1992.
Marshall was preceded in death by his mother, Clardis Amacker Mitchell, father, Charles Harry Mitchell, and brother, Maurice David Mitchell. He is survived by his wife Gertrude (Trudie) Mitchell, daughters, Mallory Pryor (Jason) of Katy, Texas, Hillary Mitchell of Lafayette and one granddaughter, Delilah Pryor.
He was the brother of Yvette Heno (Kim), Denise walker (LeRoy), Jeanne Goudeau (The late Tony Goudeau), Deacon Justin Mitchell (Beatrice), Claude Mitchell, Felice Guimont (Lloyd Johnson) colleague Richard Wright-Milbrooks Enterprises, Jamaica, Danielle Mitchell Richard.
He was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and will be dearly missed. Marshall's legacy will live on through the hearts of his family and friends.

Visitation 8am - 10am and Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church will follow immediately afterwards
Christian burial at the SW Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, La.
