Lafayette: Spencer Charles Smith, born on July 6, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Lawrence Smith Sr. and Inez Williams Smith, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and kindness.

Spencer was a longtime employee of Coca-Cola Distributors, where he earned numerous plaques and certificates recognizing his outstanding work ethic and commitment. After retiring from CocaCola, he returned to the workforce at the Avenue Plaza Hotel, where he was repeatedly honored as Employee of the Month-a testament to his continued excellence and professionalism.

A devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints, Spencer never missed a chance to cheer on his team with unwavering loyalty. He is survived by one loving sister, Maria Bowie, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who will remember his warm spirit and generous heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Lawrence Smith Sr., and three brothers, Lawrence Jr., Marvin, and Edwin Smith.

Spencer's life was marked by dedication to his work, love for his family, and pride in his community. He will be deeply missed.
