Martha Ann Bazzle

Miss Martha Ann Bazzle, 93, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, May 8, 2024, at Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Born October 9, 1930, in Allendale County, she was a daughter of the late Ulyus Coleman Bazzle, Sr. and Sara Platts Bazzle. She was formerly employed at First National Bank in Walterboro, worked at Savannah River Site, worked for the Town of Brunson, and retired as a finance and administrative clerk from the Town of Fairfax. She was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Nicholas Lutheran Church in Fairfax. At her beloved church, she was a member of the WELCA, sang in the church choir, and helped in any capacity needed. She was an avid Clemson Tiger fan and enjoyed attending football games when she was able. One of her favorite hobbies was catering and making cakes, especially for weddings and birthdays.
Surviving are: her sisters, Alice Gibson of Hampton and Linda Thomason of Tifton, Georgia; her nieces and nephews that she adored and loved as her own, Kenny Rahn of Islandton, Robert Gibson (Elaine) of Islandton, Nancy Rahn Crosby (Jimmy) of Hunter's Chapel community, Lisa Gibson Terry (Claude) of Varnville, David Bazzle (Jodi) of Williston, Crystal Thomason White (Duane) of Adel, Georgia, and Allison Thomason Bracewell (Michael) of Tifton, Georgia; her caregiver, Betty Via; as well as many great nieces, great nephews, and several great great nieces and great great nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Ulyus Coleman Bazzle, Jr. and his wife Dorothy; sister, Lillian Rahn and her husband Vernon; and brothers-in-law, Bobby Gibson and Joe Thomason.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2834 Bamberg Highway, Hampton South Carolina 29924; or to St. Nicholas Lutheran Church, Post Office Box 68, Fairfax, South Carolina 29827.
Funeral services will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, May 12, 2024, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
