January 7, 1930 – June 4, 2025
Martha Ellen Cousino, age 95 of LaSalle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Alice Lorraine Care Center.
Born January 7, 1930 in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Ada (Sunday) Thoma. Martha graduated from Monroe High School in 1947.
After school, she was married and raised a family of three daughters. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and children. She was a talented seamstress and at one time made her children's clothes including her daughter's wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses. She was married to Vincent Cousino for over 44 wonderful years until he sadly passed in 2009.
Martha was a lifetime member at St. Mary Catholic Church of Monroe. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler and played in many leagues throughout her life. In her free time, Martha enjoyed playing Bunko and reading a good book. She will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
To cherish her memory, surviving are her daughters: Jeanine (George) Ashley and Kathy Phillips; 9 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; and siblings: Norm Thoma, Robert (Janet) Thoma, Phil Thoma, Doug (Janice) Thoma, and Mary (Dan) Louks.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by husband: Vincent; daughter: Sandy Kramer; and brothers: Herbert and Harold Thoma.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Martha will lie instate at 10 am with mass at 11 am. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery, Ida.
