Irene Ann West, age 70 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Hospice of NW Ohio of Toledo.
Born November 29, 1954 in Monroe. Irene was the daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Wiesbecker) West. Irene graduated from Monroe High School.
Irene first worked for Monroe Public School System as a Bus Driver. She eventually transitioned to Lake Erie Transit where she drove the bus for around 30 years before retiring.
In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her indoor plants. She also liked to go antiquing to find treasures. Irene will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
Beloved mother of Andy Welsh. Loving sister of Karen Balent. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by siblings: Catherine, Thomas, William, Clifford, Carl, Kenneth, and James West.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place with no services at this time. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.ruppfuneralhomeinc.com
