Martha Encinias, born on August 19, 1957, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, surrounded by her daughter, Mia, and her family.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was married to her beloved husband, Jessie Encinias, for 43 years until his passing. She is also preceded in death by her dear son, Jude Encinias, her father, Hilario Leyba, and her parents-in-law, Casey and Annie Encinias.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Mia, her mother, Tillie, and her siblings: brothers Leroy (Charlotte), Gilbert (Bernadette), Leo (Abbie), and Geno (Roselyn); and her sister, Debra (Andrew). Martha leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Martha was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a deep love for music, often filling her home with the sounds of her favorite songs. She enjoyed singing and dancing. Martha also had a creative spirit and spent countless hours crafting, sewing amazing pieces, making beautiful jewelry and creating festive Christmas ornaments. She found joy in bringing her artistic visions to life.
Her dedication extended beyond her personal passions to her professional life as well. Martha worked for many years at the National Park Service, National Forest Service and later, retired from the State of New Mexico.
A memorial service will be held to honor Martha's life and legacy. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jessie, son, Jude and father Hilario. Services will take place at St. Ann's Parish in Santa Fe, NM. Rosary will begin at 9 AM on September 30th, 2024 followed by a Funeral Mass. Mia, I was saddened to hear about the passing of your mom. I´m so sorry for your loss. I hope all your special and happy memories you made together get you through this difficult time. Sending you healing thoughts and prayers.

Mothers never truly leave us. You need only look in your heart and she´ll be there. (Not my quote, yet so very true.)
