Martha J. (Campbell) Gott, 98, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Blaire House, Tewksbury, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth E. Gott with whom she shared nearly 70 years of marriage until his passing in 2018.
She was born in Boston on May 19, 1927, and was the daughter of the late James and Rachel (Anderson) Campbell.
Martha grew up in Arlington, where she graduated high school and met Ken at a high school dance. They were married several years later, after Ken got out of the Navy.
Martha first worked at the telephone company and then as the bookkeeper for Ken's Plumbing and Heating business.
Martha had her children, first Karen and then Ken Jr., and was a very devoted mom. Later, she also cherished spending time with her granddaughter Katie.
Summertimes were often spent in Bass Harbor, Maine where Ken Sr. and his cousin Jerry Walls, built an in-law apartment at the family home. Many memorable times were spent there with family.
Martha leaves her son Kenneth E. Gott, Jr. of Chelmsford; her granddaughter Katie Paulaski and her husband Rob Enge of Townsend; her sister Jean Butler of Arlington; and her son-in-law Larry E.Paulaski of Nashua, NH.; step-granddaughter Jenifer Troisi of Salisbury MA and step-grandson Larry M. Paulaski of Phoenix AZ.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her daughter Karen Paulaski; her sister Bella O'Neil and brother James Campbell
Memorial donations may be made in Martha's name to The Chelmsford Sr Center Companion Program.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 3pm - 6pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 6 pm following the visitation. Interment will be held privately.
