It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Grizzaffi Marceaux, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a steadfast member of the community, who departed this life on May 31, 2025, in Silsbee, Texas, at the age of 76.
Born on July 15, 1948, in Port Arthur, Texas, Martha embraced life with a fierce spirit grounded in her faith as a God-fearing Catholic. She was truly a pillar of strength within her family and the wider community. Martha served as the Religion Director Assistant at St. Catherine Catholic Church, where her unwavering dedication to the church illuminated the lives of many. She was also an integral figure in the Catholic Youth Organization and the beloved daycare, "Wee Care Day Care" in Port Arthur, where her loyalty and hard work endeared her to every child and parent who crossed her path.
As a proud parishioner of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and later, Infant Jesus in Lumberton, Martha’s faith guided her daily life, nurturing both her and those she loved. Her commitment to her faith was matched only by her love for her family. Martha’s proudest accomplishments centered around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.
Martha is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Glenn James Marceaux of Silsbee; her daughters, Lisa Woods and her husband, Brady of Groves, and Terri Romero and her husband, Duane of Newton. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren: Chelsea Hoffman of Washington State, Lacie Stewart of Youngsville, Louisiana, Kaci Netto of Houston, Lexie Gates of Mauriceville, and Chasin Hebert of Bridge City, as well as her great-grandchildren: Austin, Vance, Abigail, Kinsleigh, Atticus, Brennon, and Cameron. Her sisters, Linda Richard and her husband, Mark of Gueydan, Louisiana, and Elizabeth Clark of Abbeville, Louisiana, will also carry on her memory.
Martha was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Grizzaffi; her mother, Rose Rizzutto; and her sister, Tina Porter.
