Marty was born on June 10, 1952, in Musckogee, Oklahoma to Howard (Pete) and Hattie Mae Sheets. She moved to Ocala in 1970 and graduated from Forest High School that same year. She earned an Associates of Arts degree from Central Florida Community College.
Marty worked for the Department of Corrections and retired after thirty years of service in 2004. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Reddick, Florida and was the church pianist for many years. Marty was an avid Florida Gators fan and was a longtime season ticket holder for men's basketball. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC). She was a lifelong owner and lover of miniature Dachshunds.
Marty will be remembered for her love for her family and friends, her outgoing personality, contagious laugh, and thoughtfulness.
Marty is survived by her son Matt Roland (Beth Anne) and granddaughters Lola, Libby, and Leah; daughter Lisa Roland Tuck (Mark); granddaughter Nikki Tuck Russo (Dan), great grandson Cameron; and grandson Chad Tuck; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Howard Sheets, and husband James (Jim) Roland.
Services will be held on September 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Reddick, Florida. Graveside at Millwood Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Marty's memory.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I have known Marty since 1984. I also worked at Florida Correctional Inst. She was a wonderful and caring lady. I will miss her until we meet again!

I have so many fond memories of Marty, when we were single together and beyond, I can remember vividly, Matt cried all the way down the aisle when she married Jim. I am sure she will be happy to be reunited with him. My condollences to you Matt and your family.

I have so many fond memories of Marty when we were single together and beyond. I still remember Matt crying all the way down the aisle at her wedding to Jim. I am confident she will be so happy to be reunited with him. Condolences to you Matt and your family.
