Martha Anne Rookstool

Martha Anne Rookstool, 78, of Spring Dale passed away April 22nd at the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, following a short illness.
Martha was born on March 10, 1946 to Walter Cyrus and Maybelle Parker. Martha was employed for 17 years at the Kellwood Sewing Plant. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid sewer and quilt maker, and loved animals of all kinds. She was a member of the Rainelle First Baptist Church.
Preceding Martha in death are her parents, her husband John Francis Rookstool, and a host of siblings.
Survivors include her three daughters: Rebecca Harris, formerly of Spring Dale; Linda Hicks (William) of Green Sulphur Springs; and Sharon Meadows (Roger) of Spring Dale; two sons: Jeremy Rookstool (Brenda Lattz) of Hernando, FL; and John Gregory "Greg" Rookstool (Jessica) of Spring Dale; four grandchildren and one step-grandchild, three great-grandchildren and two great-step-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday April 28 at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with Pastor Greg Scott officiating. A visitation for friends at the funeral home will be held an hour prior to the service, from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M.
Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Spring Dale.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Peyton Hospice House of Lewisburg.
