Martin Joseph Rosenkranz III, our cherished patriarch, G-Pop, Papa The Great, tragically passed away on November 20, 2024, in his beautiful home in Vero Beach, FL. He was 77 years old.
Born in Easton, PA, on April 4, 1947, to Martin J Rosenkranz and Teresa Franco, Martin grew up with a warm and nurturing home life, learning the importance of hard work, family, and kindness from a young age. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, graduated from Bishop Gibbons High School then Skidmore College in upstate NY and served honorably in the Marine Corps. Martin is a veteran of the Vietnam War and went on to have successful careers in sales, management, and technology, retiring in Florida.
Marty was known for adoring his wife and family above all else, having a goofy and hilarious sense of humor with a story for every occasion. He and his soulmate Nancy had a great many adventures together, charming their way across oceans and continents, generations and households.
Martin was an accomplished stage actor and director, marine pilot, master diver, coach, craftsman of stained glass, and excelled at acquiring new skills. He was a great aficionado of baseball, enjoyed reading, boating, and riding his Harley. Whether he was doting on his grandchildren, watching his Yankees, or creating something extraordinary, he left a good spirited and loving impression on everyone he met.
Martin is survived by his darling wife, Nancy; his children, Rebecca Teresa (Michael) Jones, Martin Joshua (Tara) Rosenkranz IV, and Elizabeth (Grant) DeCicco-Hayunga; his six precious grandchildren, Drizzt'an Cheek, Bregan Cheek, Charley Valentine Rosenkranz, August Aynn Rosenkranz, Cypress Hayunga, Cree Hayunga; his brothers Michael (Kathy), and Patrick (Ginny) and nephew Crispin. Martin's family was his utmost priority and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Martin will be memorialized with full military honors at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in New York, June 24th, 2025 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: woundedwarriorproject.org or donate.cancer.org
