Martin Alex Wieloch, 77, of Mosinee, WI, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 14.

He was born in Cassel in 1947 to Joseph and Marie Wieloch, who raised a family of eleven children on a dairy farm there. Marty graduated from Marathon High School and completed vocational school before enlisting in the Navy and serving our country honorably in Vietnam. After completing his naval service, he went on to marry the love of his life, LaVonne Wieloch (Dreikosen) and together they raised three children: Jacob (Michelle) Wieloch, Ronda (Corey) Halpin, and Jennifer (Mike) Berg and had three grandchildren: Megan (Jacob), Colton (Jacob), and Xanthe (Ronda).

Marty was an active member of St. Patrick’s Faith Community for many decades. He dedicated his life to glorifying God in every way he was called.

He was also an involved and dedicated member of the VFW. Marty was a member of the color guard, honor guard, regularly volunteered whenever he was needed and in any capacity others asked him to fill.

Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening with his family. He was always helping someone either fix, build, or create something.

Marty will always be remembered for his sharp wit and the way that he could always bring a smile to your day. We couldn’t have asked for a better role model, and will miss him every day. Over the decades, he became beloved to everyone who had the chance to spend time with him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 21, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. The Rev. Joseph C. Nakwah will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.

Marty’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Veterans Administration, the professionals at Marshfield Medical Center, and their palliative care team who supported him with exceptional and compassionate care.
