Marty Horton Obituary
Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 27,2021, at 12:00 o'clock pm in the chapel of McRae Funeral Home with Bro. Aaron Johnson & Bro. Jonathan Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Blountsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. The family requests adherence to the current health restrictions of masks and social distancing. Please save your hugs and handshakes for healthier and happier times.
Mrs. Horton was born in Alabama on March 19,1930, to Edgar & Lila Hudson Nelson. She was a retired teacher for Snead State Community College.
Mrs. Horton is survived by her Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Dan & Myra Bryson of Athens, Don & Deena Bryson of Rainbow City, Doug & Cheryl Bryson of Tennessee. Grandchildren: Stephanie & Jody Johnson, Spencer & Dani Bryson, Colby Bryson, Sara & Austin Nelson, Joshua & Mikki Bryson, Jacob & Meagan Bryson. 8 Great Grandchildren. Brother & Sister-in-law: Gerald & Shirley Nelson of Birmingham. Sisters & Brother-in-Law: Joy Price of Pell City, Geneil & Dewayne Miller of Georgia.
Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her first Husband: Alton Colby Bryson, second Husband: David Horton.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
In lieu of flowers donations to 1st Baptist Church of Boaz Legacy Fund, Alabama Eye Foundation or charity of your choice.
