Marvin was born August 23, 1935 in Flat Rock, Al to parents, Luther and Ollie Jane Anderson Hawkins. He worked at Wheland foundry for over 30 years and was an avid Alabama and Pisgah Eagles fan. He loved to travel about the community and visit with his neighbors and friends as long as he was able.
Survivors include sons, Ricky Hawkins(Peggy), Gary Hawkins(Sandra), Malcom Hawkins(Margaret), daughter-in-law, Pam Hawkins, grandchildren, Anthony Hawkins, Josh and Claudia Hawkins, Amanda and Kelly Workman, Chris Hawkins, Jessica and Aaron Elrod, Colby Hawkins, Cody Hawkins, Kristy and Greg Holland, Chasity Chisenall, sister, Katherine Wooden, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Special friends, Billy Duncan and family, Jim Caperton and family, Hannah Metz.
Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maurene McCarson Hawkins, son, David Hawkins, daughter, Sandra Faye Hawkins, siblings, Isolene Durham, Billie Ruth Hawkins, Arlin "Shotgun" Hawkins and Gene Hawkins.
