Marvin Wayne Hernandez was born on July 3, 1969 in Pine Ridge, SD to Clarence Walking Eagle and Beverly Colhoff. Marvin made his journey to the Spirit World on May 30, 2023 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Marvin is survived by his siblings, Stephanie Little Bear, Arvella (Austin Backward) Wanbli Luta, Laurentia Walking Eagle, and Christopher Walking Eagle; hunka brother, Gaylen Two Bulls; uncles, Donald Morgan, Ben Brewer, and Pat Brewer; aunts, Wilma Colhoff, Toni Colhoff, Gwen Colhoff, Marsha Colhoff, Dawn Colhoff, and Colleen Franks; and numerous nieces, nephews, & grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Walking Eagle and Beverly Colhoff; spouse, LeAnn Janis; grandparents, James and Annie (Mesteth) Colhoff, Delbert Tapio, Vestana Colhoff, and Sophie Morgan; sister, Clarinda Walking Eagle; nephew, Shawn Walking Eagle; aunt, Kim Colhoff; uncle, Virgil, Colhoff; and cousins, Shelly Poor Bear, Annie Colhoff, and Daniel Bad Milk.
Pallbearers will be Derek Marks, Zach Howard, Chris B. Walking Eagle, Kellie Walking Eagle, Donald McMillan, Jr., Bryan Walking Eagle, Jeremiah Howard, Tony Siquerios, Ryan Apple, and Pat Brewer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bordeaux, Bervin Brings Plenty, Dale Garnier, Deloris Red Feather, and All Friends & Relatives.
Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 3:00 PM, Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Services: 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD.
Officiating: To Be Announced
Traditional Lakota Services: Joe Swift Bird
Burial Services: Holy Rosary Mission Catholic Cemetery, Pine Ridge, South Dakota
