Mary Bierce Obituary
Mary passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at her home in Mentor.
She was born July 1, 1935, in Cleveland.
Mary was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Mentor and the Mentor Senior Center. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. Mary loved her family.
She was the loving mother of Cheryl L. (Joseph) Thomas; and cherished grandmother of Alana N. Swetel and Jolene D. Swetel.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard L. Bierce; parents, John and Mary (nee Jedacek) Vargo; and siblings, Pauline McKinney, John Vargo and Edward (Marilyn) Vargo.
Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the church, before Mass. Burial to follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.

Dear Mary, this message is long overdue. But how I enjoyed coming to your home to teach Shari guitar lessons so many years ago. You were and Dick were always so kind to me and it was such a pleasure visiting with you. I still feel a deep love when I think of you, Dick & Shari. I remember after Dick died Shari found coins on the floor that fell from the ceiling and she told me that meant they were from a loved one that had passed and she believed those were from her dad. I never forgot that and when my 44 year-old son died three years ago suddenly when I first went to his grave, I found a coins on the concrete where I had parked, and I knew they were from him all because of Shari.
