Obituary
Mary J. "Moose" Brookman, 43, passed away unexpectedly April 30, 2023. She was born in Akron, Ohio and remained a resident her whole life. She attended Central Hower High School then went on to earn an associates degree from Herzing University and a CDCA certification from Ohio University.
Mary was crushed by the recent passing of her mother; she was definitely a Momo's girl. Mary was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by those who knew her. No matter what was going on in her life, she was always the first person you could call if you needed someone. Whether for some good laughs, or a shoulder to cry on, she impacted the people around her tremendously. Her smile could light up a whole room and her sense of humor was second to none. She felt like everyone in Akron, Ohio knew Moose, as she was a self-proclaimed legend, We All We Got !!!
Preceded in death by her mother, Karen M. Brookman and father, Charles L. Hayes; grandparents, Virginia & Carson Hayes, Mary Ann & Richard Betleyoun, and John Ezra Brookman; uncles, Richard "Bear" Betleyoun, Ken Betleyoun, Chris Betleyoun, Mike Betleyoun, Carson "Bud" Hayes; aunt Cindy Hayes; cousins, Bryan Hegwood (Betleyoun), Kyle Congrove, Chad Foster and Shawn Foster. She is survived by her children, Ezra (Lauren), Mackenna "Promise", Caroline "Unique", Darius and Carson; siblings, Anthony (Tisha), Buffy (Michael) and Charles (Felicia) all of Akron Ohio; nieces and nephews, Ashley (Devaujhn), Tiara (Kyle), Charnai (Domo), Talia, Anthony Jr., Kayleeana, Young Johnny (Money), Nikolas (Sadie), Bianka, Breanna, Charlie, Riley (Lindsey) and King; significant other Lukk; and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would to thank "Cissy's Diner" 450 W. Park Ave. Barberton Ohio 44203 for all of their help. They are holding a spaghetti and chicken alfredo benefit for Mary on Saturday May 6th starting at 5:00 PM. All proceeds will be donated directly to Mary's funeral fund.
The family would also like to thank each and every person who has helped make Mary's last dance possible.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home or to Ezra Brookman on Cash App at $EzBeezy00 to assist with funeral expenses.
