Mary Ellen Hester Haynes

Colfax- Mrs. Mary Ellen Hester Haynes, 88, died Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her residence. She was born on January 27, 1937, in Forsyth County to the late William Pink and Cleo Patra Linville Hester. She was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church and a graduate of City Memorial Hospital as a R.N. in 1958. She loved to read and garden. In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Haynes and a brother, William Newton Hester. She is survived by her three children, Sherry Bryson (Mike) of Fayetteville, Kevin Haynes (Kay) of Belews Creek and Jennifer Rose (Phillip) of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Sarah Haynes, Meredith Tew (Brandon), Harrison Rose, Katherine Rose, and Nicholas Rose. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Bruce Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Antioch Church 6080 Belews Creek Rd.
