Mary Frances Evers passed away on October 23, 2024. She was 63 years old.
Born to parents Charles and Mary (Matthews) Evers, in Elizabeth NJ, Mary lived in Rahway before moving to Bridgewater in 1971. She was a 1979 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School East. She attended and graduated Valedictorian from Seton Hall University with a bachelor's degree in economics and continued her education at the Seton Hall University Law School, where she graduated with her JD in the top 5% of her class. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Parish in Far Hills.
Mary held many positions during her career and served as both inside and outside counsel in her roles. She began as an associate at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, moved her way up to counsel for First Fidelity Bancorp, and served as Vice President and Senior Counsel for both GE Capital and JP Morgan Chase, as well as Managing Counsel for Bank of New York Mellon. In her last position she served as counsel for HomeBridgeFinancial Services. A lifelong New Jersey resident, Mary lived in various locations within NJ, including Medford and Bedminster, throughout her lifetime.
Mary is survived by her sister Kathleen (William) Wardle, brothers Charles (Siegrid) Evers, Jr., Dr.Thomas (Mary) Evers DMD, and William (Michelle) Evers Esq., and her beloved nieces and nephews, Gillian, Mary, Thomas Jr. and Charles Evers, and Carolyn, Alison, and Grace Wardle.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, from 2-4 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street,Peapack. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, November 4, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Parish, 34 Peapack Rd, Far Hills. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to Martinsville Rescue Squad PO Box 296 Martinsville NJ 08836.
