Mary Elizabeth Fugitt, age 85, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. She was born on June 11, 1939, in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma, to Roy Lee and Lucinda Ella Harris.
Mary was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and lived her faith with quiet grace. She found great joy in the simple beauties of life, especially gardening, where her love for flowers blossomed in every season. She had a true gift for cooking, known and cherished by all who had the pleasure of sitting at her table. Her talents also extended to arts and crafts, particularly in ceramics, where her creativity shone brightly.
Mary worked for the Federal Aviation Administration and was admired for her dedication and work ethic. But above all, she was a woman of warmth, generosity, and kindness.
She is survived by Diane Denson and spouse Liz; stepdaughter Susan Gaston and husband Dan; grandchildren Kara Hartness and husband Matt, and Krista Flowers and husband Dagen; and five great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd Fugitt; her parents, Roy Lee and Lucinda Ella Harris; and her three brothers and three sisters.
Mary was deeply loved and will be remembered for her delicious meals, her gentle heart, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Tom Merrill and Pam Levy for their care and support, as well as to Silver Elms Estate, Calia, and the wonderful staff for the love and comfort they provided. Special thanks also to Loving Care's Kim and Linda, Carter Home Health's Paige Green, and the dedicated Good Shepherd Hospice team for their compassion and attentive care during Mary's final journey.
