Mary Jo “JoJo” Irwin, 58, of Wakefield LA, died October 13, 2023, at Grace Health and Rehab Center in Slaughter, LA.
She was born on October 9, 1965, in Fayetteville, NC to Patricia Clay.
Jo Jo attended West Feliciana High School. She also played softball during her school years.
She first married to Eddie Jenkins of Greensburg, LA. Together they had two children, E.J. and Samantha. She then later married Kenneth Irwin who also had two children prior, Star and Vincent, of whom she cared for as her own children.
Throughout Jo Jo’s careers she attended to people’s needs in the hospitality industry. She also partnered with and was employed through Irwin Installations, owned, and operated by her and her late husband Kenneth.
Jo Jo is survived by her sister Michelle Posey and brother Bobby Clay, Children E.J. Jenkins, Samantha Bounds, Star Moon, and Vincent Irwin, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Patricia and Parker Clay and her husband Kenneth Irwin.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 pm on November 4, 2023, at longtime family friend, Albert “Gator” McConnell’s home and property located at 8378 Muscadine Lane East Wakefield, LA 70775. Memorials or Donations made may be sent to 8378 Muscadine Lane East Wakefield, LA 70775 C/O Samantha Bounds and Vincent Irwin. A special thank you is expressed to Kim Holiday (daughter-in-law) as she cared for and tended to JoJo’s needs as her health declined.
