Wendell Dawson Wade

Wendell Dawson Wade, age 82, passed away on August 2, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1941, at Lago Hospital in Aruba, N.W.I.. Wendell attended West Feliciana High School, St. Francisville, LA and Belhaven College, Jackson, MS. He served in the United States Air Force with duty in Germany during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he was employed by The State of Louisiana Attorney General Office where he worked until retirement in October 2002. Wendell was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and St. Francisville. At the time of his death, he was a resident of LaCour House (Assisted Living Community) New Roads, LA. He was presided in death by his parents and siblings: William Center Wade; Evelyn Wade Richardson; Joseph John Wade. He is survived by his sister Eleanor Wade Thomas (husband Glenn Holland Thomas Jr.); niece Christine Thomas Pollet (husband Shannon Dale Pollet, children Madison Noel Pollet and Evelyn Ray Pollet); many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Wendell and his dog, Brother, were inseparable in life and now in death! He spent his life enriching those around him by his presence. His legacy and memories will be cherished by all who knew him. Memorial services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church St. Francisville on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Visitation starts at 10 am followed by memorial service at 11 am.
