Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Westminster Presbyterian Chapel, 1330 India Hook Road, Rock Hill with Reverend Mike Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Chapel Northex. Burial will be private, family only, in Tirzah ARP Church Cemetery.
Born in Kornhorn, the Netherlands, Martha was the daughter of the late Teije "Ted" VanderPloeg and the late Willemke "Wilma" Poelman VanderPloeg. An immigrant from the Netherlands in 1957, Martha made homes and friends in Morrison and Fulton, Illinois; Kalamazoo, Michigan; Lake Worth/Lantana, Florida before moving to Rock Hill, South Carolina. She will be missed for her ready smile, hospitality and faith. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Martha is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lambert Medenblik; two sons, Jul (Jackie) Medenblik of Grand Rapids, MI, and Ted (Anne) Medenblik of Hillsborough, NC; her daughter, Wilma (Ron) Lamberts of Fort Mill, SC; seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons; her brother, Arie (Gerry) VanderPloeg of Plainville, MI.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Mary Martha Medenblik's name to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Faith Promise, 1300 India Hook Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
