Mary Coutee Monette, was born on April 27, 1949, in the Cane River Community. She passed from this life on December 24, 2024, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of love, nurturing, and devotion.
Mary's life was characterized by her commitment to her family. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Jimerson and husband Gerald, Charlette Monette, and Connie White and husband Kenny; her sons, Willie Monette, Jr. and wife Iola, Jason Monette, and Michael Monette and wife Jamie; and sister, Rose Spindola and husband Robert. She was blessed with the joy of 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense happiness to her life, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Alphonse Coutee and Mabelle Beaudion Coutee and her husband, Willie Monette, Sr., with whom she shared many years of love and partnership. Her life exemplified the values of family unity and support, and she will be missed profoundly by those who knew her.
A visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, Louisiana, on December 31, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the same location beginning at 10 AM. Mary will then be laid to rest in Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery next to her husband Willie.
