Mary Perry Obituary
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack of nearly 70 years, two sons, Colin Perry and Olin "Greek" Perry, a great-grandson, Chase Johnston and one brother James Robert Jewell.
She is survived by five children: Mack Perry and wife Sharon of Springdale, Steve Perry and wife Tricia of Springdale, Gene Perry and wife Debbie of Springdale, Gabriell Mills and husband Richard of Benton, Alvin Perry and wife Elvia of Springdale; a daughter-in-law Diann Perry of Houston, TX; 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
In April 1949 she met the love of her life, Jack C. Perry at his 19th birthday party and they married on March 9, 1950. She never worked outside the home but was a homemaker throughout her life. She sewed clothes for her children and cooked meals from scratch. Her fried chicken and mashed potatoes were famous! She raised seven children, lovingly babysat her grandchildren, and took care of her mother in her home. After Jack lost his eyesight, she was a devoted caregiver to him for the last 46 years of his life until his death in 2020. She was a faithful member of Peaceful Valley Bible Church in Springdale.
Please join us in celebrating her life at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Visitation will be one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home at 4520 N Crossover Rd, Fayetteville, officiated by Pastor Bill Pettigrew. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Springdale.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Peaceful Valley Bible Church, 2203 S 40th Street, Springdale, AR 72762.
Mary's family would like to thank the staff of The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows for the great care they gave to her during the last four years of her life, and we would like to thank the Circle of Life Hospice for the comfort they provided her during her last days.

Mary was a true trooper. She survived soo many adversaries and still survived. She was such a blessing in my life. I will always admire her. Thank you Mom for being in my life.
