Mary Margaret Poffenberger

Sharpsburg, MD – Mary Margaret Poffenberger, 88, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 10, 1937, in Sharpsburg, MD, to the late Raymond Emanuel and Anna Marie Lewis Swain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. "Bill" Poffenberger in 2013.
Mary was a 1954 graduate of Boonsboro High School Boonsboro, MD.
She was a Homemaker.
Mary was a life member of Christ Reformed UCC of Sharpsburg, MD. She was very active with the Women's Guild and was a Consistory member.
She was also a member of Washington Co. 4-H leader and a great supporter. Additionally, she was a member of Maryland Cattlemen's Association; Washington County Rural Heritage Museum; Washington County Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey Poffenberger and wife Julie of Sharpsburg, MD; daughter Deborah Toms and her husband Dick of Boonsboro, MD; son Douglas Poffenberger and his wife Cheri of Sharpsburg, MD; daughter Lisa Drake and her husband Mike of Sharpsburg, MD; son Scot Poffenberger and his wife Christie of Sharpsburg, MD; son Brian Poffenberger and his wife Karen of Sharpsburg, MD; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister Evelyn V. Cline and a great granddaughter Haley Renee Rock.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10:00 am with Pastor Rick Bishop officiating. Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery Sharpsburg, MD.
