Mary Rose Broussard
Our mother went home today. Mary Rose Gisclair Broussard, born March 1, 1918, passed into eternal peace on August 15, 2021. She was 103 years old.
She was welcomed in Heaven by her husband, Louis Broussard, her son, Glenn Louis Broussard, her daughter, Mary Geraldine Dias, grand daughter, Elizabeth Basulito, great granddaughters, Caelyn and Claire Olds, grandson Lonnie Wayne Olds, her parents, Jean & Olivia Gisclair, her siblings, Eleanora, Louisa, Rosena, Abraham, Ole, Sonnie, Telenie, and Cherol, her grandparents, Francois & Celima Gisclair, and Emilien & Marguerite Gisclair, her daughter in law Paula Galjour, son in laws, Lonnie Olds and Lee James Dias, numerous nieces and nephews, and beloved family members.
Mary will be sadly missed by her children, Loena Olds, Maureen Collins, (Gary Collins), Sturgeon Louis Broussard, and Murphy Broussard, daughter-in-law, Gail LeFort Broussard, 26 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 29 great great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and family members.
She was a member of The Women's Chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was employed by South Lafourche High School and Lady of the Sea Hospital where she worked in the cafeteria for many years.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of her the arrangements. She will be buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, Louisiana next to her beloved husband.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on the day.
