Mary Tornquist, 77 of Malvern, IA, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern.
Burial will be in the Malvern Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern is caring for Mary and her family.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Malvern Volunteer Rescue.
OBITUARY
Mary Rose (Moon) Tornquist, 77, of Malvern, IA, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE.
Mary was born on September 19, 1947 in Des Moines, IA, one of two children of Paul Martin and Mildred May (Patterson) Moon. She graduated from high school and attended college.
Mary and Stephen Lee Tornquist were united in marriage on April 6, 1968 in Des Moines. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Brian Todd and Stephanie Lyn.
Mary enjoyed watching Dr. Phil and Law & Order, scrapbooking, and loved spending time with her family and grandkids and attending their activities. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and cheering for her favorite player, Patrick Mahomes. Mary was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, aunt, and a good friend to all who knew and loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Steve in 2014; sister-in-law Vicky Tornquist; and brother-in-law Jerry Jennings.
Mary is survived by her son Brian Tornquist and wife Tonya of Papillion, NE; daughter Stephanie Dandurand and husband Travis of Windsor, CO; seven grandchildren, Brett (Erin) Tornquist of Cary, NC, Amber Miller (Derek) of Papillion, NE, Lance Carlisle of Omaha, NE, Haley Tornquist (Dylan Altman) of Bennington, NE, Brittney Dandurand of Fargo, ND, Makenzie Dandurand of Thief River, MN, and Holly Terry (Tevin) of Casper, WY; five great grandchildren, Everett, Baylor, Quinn, Oaklee, and Ava; brother Michael Moon and wife Chris of Des Moines, IA; sister-in-law Carolyn Jennings of Clarinda, IA; brothers-in-law, Harold Tornquist of Council Bluffs, Mark Tornquist and wife Kathy of Redmond, WA, and Chris Tornquist and wife Marty of Spokane, WA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and several special friends.
