Mary Elizabeth (Sis) Weems was born on December 18, 1933 to James & Ollie Brown in Willoughby OH. Mary was the only girl with 4 brothers and was affectingly called "Sis". Sis attended school in the Willoughby school system. Sis later moved to Detroit MI and married Leonard Weems. Sis became the mother of 8 children. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, before working in manufacturing for a few short years after her children were older. After she retired, she took turns staying with her children in Detroit MI, Las Vegas, NV and Painesville, OH. Her final stop was Painesville OH, where she took ill. Sis was a kind and loving person, who could turn any stranger into a friend. She loved music, dancing, playing cards, and visiting family and friends. Her pride and joy was her family. If she had a conversation with you, you were going to see some pictures of her family. Sis departed this life on Sunday February 9, 2025. She leaves to treasure her memory, her daughter, Chery Weems (Painesville, OH); Renee Weems (Las Vegas NV); Leonard F. Weems Jr. (Karyn) Richmond Heights, OH; Terrance Weems Sr (Las Vegas, NV) and a brother, Buford Brown in Cleveland OH. Sis also leaves 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 children, Linda Wells; Mary L. Weems; Yvonne Weems; and Raymond Weems, in addition to her parents and 3 brothers, Richard Brown, James Brown, Clarence (Billy) Brown.
